Numerous changes to subway, tram and bus routes in Toronto on May 7-8

There will be no subway trains on part 1 of line 1 this weekend, but TTC will step up the service of dozens of bus and tram routes as part of a broader plan to gradually restore services to pre-pandemic levels.

The service improvements will affect 41 different routes and are not related to the partial closure of the Line 1 metro, which is being done to accommodate work on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

Subway closure

There will be no metro on line 1 between Lawrence and St. Clair only on Saturday. The shuttles will move and stop at each station along the route. All stations will remain open to connect people with land routes.

Deviations are planned for Sunday

Numerous TTC bus lane routes will be diverted on Sunday morning to accommodate the Sporting Life 10k race in the center.

Improved service

As of Sunday, the service will be increased to 41 routes as part of TTC’s plan to revive the service, which was reduced earlier during the pandemic. The improvements include a major restoration of express bus services, as well as the revival of two seasonal routes along the city’s coast.
