Katie Wright, whose son Daunte Wright was killed by a police officer at the Brooklyn Center, was threatened and forced to stop filming the arrest of another cop there on Wednesday. Although Wright was on the other side of the road and did nothing to prevent the arrest, the cop crossed several lanes (although another officer told him not to), threatened her, took her hand, and took her camera. and pulled her out of her parked car.
“You boys killed my son and I will record him,” she said, pointing in the direction of the bus stop. “And if you take me to jail, I’ll judge you.”
“You can’t sit on the side of the road!” the officer tells Wright.
“Never touch me again,” she replies.
“I’ll mail you a ticket,” the officer finally said, to which Wright replied, “then send me a ticket.”
During a news conference Thursday, Wright asked why the officer chose to say he would give Wright a ticket, even though another officer told him not to.
