Ontario health officials say there are currently 1,563 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 204 patients in intensive care.
The total number of patients with the disease fell slightly from 1662 on Friday to 1563 on Saturday.
The number of people in the intensive care units across the province also fell slightly on Saturday from 210 the day before to 204.
Authorities also reported another 24 deaths due to COVID-19, all of which occurred in the past 30 days.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 12,962 people have died from the disease.
The province reported 2,164 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, but health officials warned that the number was underestimated due to limitations in tests and lags.
With 14,521 processed in the last 24 hours, the health ministry says the positivity rate in the province is about 13.1 percent.
In the Greater Toronto area, officials reported 519 new cases in Toronto, 168 new cases in the York region, 162 new cases in the Peel region, 100 new cases in the Durham region and 66 new cases in the Halton region.
Officials also reported 119 new cases in Hamilton. All other regions reported less than 100 new cases on Saturday.
The province estimates that another 2,820 cases of the disease have been resolved by Saturday, increasing the number of patients cured in Ontario to 1,235,302.
Today’s report puts the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases in Ontario at 1,272,972.
The province reported 106 resident cases and 30 cases of staff in long-term care facilities in Ontario. Three of the 24 deaths reported on Saturday involved residents in long-term care.
Officials said at least 203 long-term care homes are currently dealing with the outbreak.
