The rumor that Amber Heard cites lines from the 1999 film The Talented Mr. Ripley has been branded a forgery.

In the testimony on Thursday, the actress from Aquaman wept after claiming that her ex-husband Johnny Depp broke into her with a bottle during a tense dispute and threatened to kill her.

After the video spread online, Hurd was accused of using lines from the psychological thriller and referred to the scene in which Gwyneth Paltrow’s character Marge Duvall talks about Dickie (Jude Law).

According to many screenshots shared online, Hurd had said: “When I was around Johnny, I felt like the most beautiful person in the world.

“You know, it made me feel seen, it made me feel like a million dollars. It felt like a dream. It felt like, um, absolute magic, and then he would disappear. And there was just no way to connect with him, there was no way to connect with him.

Following growing speculation, the fact-checking website Snopes.com strongly emphasized that the allegations were untrue.

The publication’s report reads: “The claim that Hurd repeated these lines from” The Talented Mr. Ripley “was presented on social media without evidence.

“Those who say they did not share a video of Hurd making the alleged statement, nor did they link to news articles containing this quote or transcript of the trial that would confirm the accusation.”

The Edward Scissors star is suing his ex-wife for defamation and is seeking $ 50 million (£ 39 million) in damages for an article she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018.

Following her bombing testimony, Depp’s spokesman issued a statement describing her time at the booth as “fulfilling her life.”

“As Mr Depp’s lawyer rightly predicted in his introductory remarks last month, Mrs Hurd did present ‘the fulfillment of her life’ in her direct questioning,” they said.

In the article, she discusses that she is a victim of domestic violence, but does not mention the name of her ex-partner.

Although Depp was not named, his team said it meant she was physically and sexually abused by him during their marriage – something he denied.

The process continues.
