Canelo Alvarez seems to become a two-time light heavyweight champion. But he has a severe test ahead of him.
LAS VEGAS – Canelo Alvarez continues his march to history as he fights WBA (super) light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.
This is Alvarez’s second hike (57-1-2, 39 KO) to 175 pounds. After stopping Sergei Kovalev to win the WBO belt in November 2019, Alvarez became the undisputed champion in the super middleweight category, culminating in the suspension of Caleb Plant last November to win all four belts.
