Labor has rejected allegations that a leaked planning note regarding Keira Starmer’s visit to Durham last year undermines his claim that he did not break the blocking rules.
A Labor document published by the Mail on Sunday shows that an 80-minute dinner with Labor MP Mary Foy, which included curry for the home, was planned as part of his schedule.
Starmer has repeatedly argued that eating a picture of him drinking beer does not violate blocking rules because he eats while working and does not attend a social event.
Police in Durham said Friday that they were reopening an investigation into the incident, prompting Tories to accuse the Labor leader of hypocrisy as he called for Boris Johnson’s resignation when police launched an investigation into violations of the 10 blockade.
Tori claims that the note is proof that the meal is in violation of the blocking rules, as it shows that it was pre-arranged (to take place between 20:40 and 22:00), and not just a spontaneous decision to order food , as the work is extended until the evening, because Starmer’s story of the evening suggests.
Starmer also claims that he continued to work after eating. But the expired schedule showed that he had to return to his hotel at 10 pm after a meal.
In a separate report, the Sunday Times quoted an unnamed source who attended the rally as saying that Starmer did not return to work after a meal and that Foy and her staff were not present for work but to drink.

“Mary Foy and her staff did not work and I have no problem telling the police. They were just angry. They were there just for fun, “said the source.
Mary Foy said: “My team and I worked during a very busy time. Including facilitating the leader’s visit. I do not believe that neither I nor my office have broken the rules and, of course, I will be fully committed to any police investigation.
In a tweet over the weekend, Nadine Doris, the culture minister, said the note showed Labor’s story of the evening was a “lie”. Dominic Raab, justice minister and deputy prime minister, told Sky’s Sophie Ridge on Sunday that Starmer was guilty of “double standards”.
Lisa Nandi, the secretary for raising the shadow level, told the same program that the leak confirmed confirms that Starmer was on a working visit when he was in Durham on April 30, 2020.
She said Starmer had been the victim of an “absolutely desperate attempt to throw mud” and that it was “absurd” to equate it to an under investigation by the Prime Minister for 12 separate gatherings, including karaoke parties, bring your own bottles, quizzes in pubs ” [and] suitcases full of wine are smuggled through the back door. ”
She continued: “The Prime Minister lied about it.” Keira Starmer went on a working visit and had a break to eat. The idea that it’s the same thing is just a sign of a government that is tired, desperate and completely without ideas. “
A spokesman for Starmer’s office said: “Keir was working, there was food in the kitchen for the house and he ate between work needs. No rules were broken. “
The time for events often slips away during the campaign and on the day of the curry the food for home is late, said a source.
Adam Wagner, a lawyer and blocking policy specialist, posted on Twitter that the fact that Starmer’s diet was planned in advance did not undermine claims that it was necessary for work reasons. “The fact that it has been agreed in advance with the guidelines on social distancing makes it more likely to be reasonably necessary, no less,” he said.
He also claims that the event is similar to the gathering on Downing Street, where Johnson and his staff were photographed drinking wine and eating cheese in Garden 10, where they are said to be discussing work issues. The incident was not investigated by the Sofia police, Wagner said.
