Ontario reported 1,167 hospitalizations with COVID-19

Ontario reported 1,167 hospitalizations with COVID-19 on Sunday, lower than Saturday’s 1,563 hospitalizations.

However, according to the government, more than 10% of hospitals did not update their data on Sundays, as sometimes happens on weekends.

A total of 207 people were treated in the intensive care units as a result of COVID-19, compared to 204 the day before, but less than 210 on Friday.

The province says 90 people in the intensive care unit need a ventilator to breathe for them.

Ontario reported nine more deaths on Sunday, bringing the total number of COVID-related deaths in the province to 12,972.

Limited laboratory tests confirmed an additional 1,938 cases of COVID-19, which is less than at least 2,164 cases on Saturday and less than 2,243 cases a week ago.

The average for seven days continues to decline and is now 2076 – the last time it was below 2000 was on March 25.

The percentage of test positive is 12.2% in 12,827 tests.
