Welcome back to another part of “this is Wordle’s answer today,” where I do the Wordle puzzle and tell you the answer, but not before I give you a hint. This … this was difficult. I got it for three, but it still took longer than most of the other puzzles put together because of the last word, and I wonder if it might trip you up the same way.
We’ve been on an easier stretch for a while, but those two Wordle words over the weekend are hard again. We’ll see if anyone breaks their series today, but the way it’s structured, you may just be forced to guess until you get it with such limited capabilities. Or you can come here and I will give you the answer for free.

Today’s answer and hint of Wordle # 319
Before I continue, I will pretend that this is an article about Dr. Strange in the multiverse of madness, and I will warn you of a big spoiler here, in case you happen to be here. As for a hint before we dive into the actual answer? It’s a little harder. This is a strange word that I had to look for the exact definition. Sounds like something a rich man in his 40s can say. This is the best I have.
And the answer is …
Canny
NYT
Canny!
Yes, cunning. I mean, I’ve heard it, I don’t know if I’ve ever used it before. So what is the definition of canny? That would be “having or showing insight and judgment, especially when it comes to money or business.” For example, “he’s a cunning businessman” or something. Again, I don’t hear most people say that … ever.
So that’s how I got there. I started with my usual CRANE and thought I was doing well because it got C and N in the right places and the word that there was an A somewhere. Then I recognized “CAINS”, which … I don’t really know what CAINS means. , but the answer generator assumed it, so that told me where to go A. Then things got weird and I spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out the final answer CA_N_ without any other clues and without a lot of missing letters. I tried CARNE, but it’s a different language, so I didn’t even accept the guess. Eventually, my wife came in and recognized CANNY, but she didn’t know what that meant either.
So yes, here it is. Did you give up and find yourself here for the answer? If so, thank you for stopping by.
