Two men were shot dead early Sunday morning in front of a building in an industrial area on the western tip of Montreal.
Police officers were called around 4:10 a.m. on Hickmore Street, near Merizzi St., in the Saint-Laurent district.
When they arrived, they found the first victim, 30, on the spot, conscious of injuries to his upper body.
He was transported to the hospital and is out of danger, according to Montreal Police (SPVM).
The second victim, 22 years old, went to the hospital alone and his life is also safe.
Police said there was a gathering in a room in an industrial building, which took to the streets, where a fight broke out and ended in gunfire.
“Both victims were injured then,” said SPVM spokeswoman Caroline Chevrefils.
The suspect (s) fled the scene before the police arrived.
A security perimeter has been set up to allow investigators to analyze the scene and better understand the circumstances of the incident.
The investigation continues.
Police could not say whether the shooting was related to the one in Laval, in which one was killed and three were injured.
