What are you playing this weekend? (May 7)

If you’ve noticed that things are a little quieter this week, it’s because Japan is Golden Week, a series of four national holidays where many companies take a break. For others, Star Wars Day was on May 4th (okay, okay, May 4th) and this is also considered a bit of a holiday, depending on who you’re talking to too! And tomorrow is Mother’s Day in the United States, so happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate it!

As for the news, there has been a lot of talk about Reggie since the release of his book, Disrupting the Game. In addition, we finally got a new trailer for Mario Strikers: Battle League. There is also a fun little Easter egg on credit for Nintendo Switch Sports. And we got a brief look at the upcoming Netflix Sonic series, Sonic Prime.

Now it’s time to relax and discuss our plans for the weekend games. Several members of the Nintendo Life team did just that below, so feel free to read our posts and then join your own through our comment section. Enjoy!

Readers, I missed and picked up a few games at the Spring Into Action sale. Incredibly, I no longer owned a Gris, so this was my first purchase. The other game I clicked (ha!) Is Umurangi Generation Special Edition – something I’ve been keeping an eye on since it launched on Steam. One is a beautiful, sensory platformer for depression and grief, and the other is an urban, apocalyptic look at the Pokémon Snap with cutting-edge social commentary. I’m excited to finally dig up both.

I will also continue to work on Klonoa: Empire of Dreams, which I like even more the second time. I’ve been either busy or everywhere this week, so video games aren’t really part of my routine. Instead, I just watched a lot of Metroid videos. Sometimes I need a good video essay or three. Have a nice weekend, people!

I was wandering aimlessly between Switch games, so it’s time to focus! I think I will be working on Two Point Hospital: Jumbo Edition, which I received recently, and I will also make a concerted effort to stick to Disco Elysium: The Final Cut. Certainly many different games …

Elsewhere, I’ll probably miss between Forza Horizon 5, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Max Payne, depending on what random mood I’m in right now.

hello [waves]. This weekend I’m looking to enter a little more Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection; So far, I’ve been sticking with the characters that I know I’m quite competent with, so I’d like to branch out a bit and try someone new. I still really like it, especially these later records!

Elsewhere, I decided to restart Bioshock Infinite on Switch. It’s been a while since I last played it and I’m curious to see if the game and the story hold up. I remember the bird thing was cool and hooking these things with hooks, but other than that, my memory is a little hazy.

Without wanting to spoil anything, we have something really specially prepared for tomorrow and after having a brief overview of this passionate project with the kind assistance of the wonderful Mr. Zion Grassl, I have fun starting Mother 3 and actually playing the thing for the first time . I bought it from Japan last year and I have a fan translation ready for my reliable GBA – I just didn’t find the time to release it! I feel that the game requires and deserves my full attention – this is not what I want to play on half-hour spells for months. We’ll see if I find time this weekend.

In the meantime, a wonderful weekend to all and look out for a little heart-warming health in the near future …

From top dog to bottom feeder again, I forgot how cruel the promotion to Division 1 of Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe League was. Not much is actually happening, so this weekend it’s time to play Return of the Jedi until you finish in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and keep destroying people in Nintendo Switch Sports.

Game of the week is Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I wasn’t ready for the amount of game content after credits and honestly … Kirby really is the gift he keeps giving!

As always, thanks for reading! Don’t forget to leave us a comment below with your plans for the weekend games!
