Update (5/8/22) – Xbox support has confirmed that players “should no longer see problems when it comes to shopping, launching games or joining cloud gaming sessions”.
They also thanked everyone for their patience and wished everyone a “nice game!”
The original story follows.
Xbox support has warned that “some users cannot buy and launch games or launch cloud gaming sessions” on the Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Cloud Gaming-enabled devices.
Xbox support tweeted its latest update on May 7 at 14:34 PT / 17: 34 ET, saying: “We are still working to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, players can see an improvement in starting games by restarting your Xbox console. “
While those with disk games should have no problem, users of digital games may have trouble starting them. Launching cloud games can also be a problem and users who connect will be unexpectedly disconnected once it starts. Finally, users may not be able to purchase new games from the Microsoft Store.
We’ll add any new updates to this page, but anyone can check out the official Xbox Status page to see the latest updates.
