A trailer fire in Rutland this morning was considered suspicious.

Captain of the Kelowna Fire Department platoon John Kelly says fire crews were called to the scene at the industrial complex of block 700 on McCurdy Road around 6:45 a.m.

Crews arrived to find two burning semi-trailers parked next to each other.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but not before significant damage was caused to both units.

The flames were located next to the trailers, without damaging the surrounding properties.

The RCMP will investigate the incident.

A fire this morning in the McCurdy Road area of ​​Kelowna is in a semi-trailer on an industrial site.

Witnesses tell Castanet that up to two trailers may have been set on fire.

It is believed that there may have been a homeless camp on the plot near Mayfair Road.

Nearby there is a large park for mobile homes, as well as other industrial plots.
