Australian singer Nick Cave has announced that his son Jethro has tragically died at the age of 31.
Nick told Mirror Online: “It is with great sadness that I can confirm that my son Jethro has died. We would be grateful for the privacy of the family at this time. “
Jethro, whose mother is model Beau Lazenby, was born in 1991 and lives in Melbourne.
He was released from prison two days before his death, it was reported.
Jethro was jailed in April after pleading guilty to assaulting his mother. His lawyer, Sean Gatas, argued before a judge that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, which affected his judgment.
This is the second tragedy that befell the Cave family after Nick and his wife Susie lost their teenage son Arthur seven years ago.

Arthur, 15, died after falling off a cliff while taking a selfie in Brighton.
Disciple Arthur was found lying unconscious on a promenade under a steep ledge of passers-by desperately trying to give first aid.
The student, who devastated friends said he was “always happy and smiling”, was pronounced dead after being airlifted to a local hospital.
The family describes Arthur as a “handsome, happily loving boy” at the time of his death.

Jethro made a career as a model after managing to use his famous last name to help build relationships in the fashion industry.
He began modeling after being scouted in Melbourne and walked around as a designer during Milan Fashion Week.
Jethro also had a number of acting credits in his name. He starred in the 2007 film Corroboree and 2011 in My Little Princess.
Earlier, his mother Bo claimed that her son had not met Nick, who is best known as the frontman of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, until he was seven years old.
Following the news of Jethro’s death, fans took to Twitter to share their condolences.
One wrote, “Nick Cave and his family deserve all the love in the universe. Incomprehensibly tragic,” while another added, “The heart is broken for @NickCave and his family. RIP Jethro Lazenby Cave.”
“Too much tragedy – even for Nick Cave,” wrote a third fan.
“Oh my God, my heart is on Nick Cave,” added another.
Nick has sons Luke, 30, from his first marriage to Vivian Carneiro, and son Earl, 21, from his marriage to Susie.
