Sofia police officer David Carrick has been charged with three other counts of rape, bringing the total charges against him to 44.
The 47-year-old police officer has already faced 41 charges, including 11 alleged victims, including rape, coercive and controlling behavior and sexual violence between 2003 and 2020.
On Monday, the Kingdom’s prosecutor’s office authorized Hertfordshire police to charge Carrick with additional crimes involving one complainant, allegedly between 2008 and 2009.
Carrick will appear in Westminster Magistrates’ Court on May 13 in connection with the new charges. He is on the list to appear in a Canterbury court hearing later this month.
Carrick, who was arrested by police in Hertfordshire in October and removed from the Metropolitan, was previously attached to the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Defense Command.
He is accused of 44 crimes against 12 women between 2003 and 2020. They consist of:

Twenty-one rape charges.

Nine charges of sexual violence.

Five penetration points.

Three points for coercive and controlling behavior.

Two charges of false imprisonment.

Two charges of attempted rape.

An accusation of attempted sexual assault.

An accusation of forcing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
