Monday, May 9, 2022, 8:39 a.m. – Widespread snow continues to threaten northern Alberta, with the risk of thunderstorms covering parts of the province on Monday.
Sunday night served as a great reminder to keep your winter tires in May throughout Alberta. It snowed all night in some areas, including the city of Calgary, as temperatures hovered near zero. The heaviest snow is aimed at the northern parts of the province, with up to 20 cm in some localized areas on Monday. However, snow will not be the only factor for the day’s weather, as warming temperatures and an unstable atmosphere create the ground for some isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.
