A man’s body was found next to the M4

A man’s body was found near the M4 in South Wales, police confirmed.

Emergency services were called in a “police incident” on Sunday afternoon, as a result of which two lanes of the eastern section of motorway between junction 22 and junction 23A near the Prince of Wales Bridge were closed for several hours.

Officials have now confirmed that the man’s body was found right next to the highway. The identity or age of the man, as well as the cause of death, have not yet been announced.

A Gwent police spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that the man’s body was found right next to the M4 after junction 23 in the east, around 12.45 on Sunday. We are currently in contact with the Coroner of Gwent to determine the cause of death. The death is not yet considered suspicious. “
