Biden for Rick Scott: “I think the man has a problem”

President Biden said Tuesday that he believes Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.) “Has a problem” in response to Scott’s criticism that the president is “incompetent and inconsistent.”

Biden attacked Scott’s tax plan in remarks about his administration’s plan to fight inflation, but called on Scott as a senator from Wisconsin, not Florida.

“The president just said I was from Wisconsin.” [Biden] he’s so incapacitated and inconsistent that he can’t even keep his condition upright, “said Scott.

When a reporter asked Biden for an answer to Scott’s statement, Biden said, “I think the man has a problem.”

Biden was also asked to make a statement earlier in the day, expecting Biden to attack him in his remarks on the economy, which said the president must resign to tackle high inflation.

“Resign, that’s a good idea,” Biden said, smiling.

The White House has previously asked Scott, the leader of the Republican campaign in the Senate, for his proposed tax plan, emphasizing that some aspects of it will raise taxes on middle-class and lower-income Americans.

The proposal, published by Scott earlier this year, called for federal income taxes on Americans who currently pay none and the removal of all federal legislation in five years, possibly including programs such as Social Security and Medicaid.

Biden also tied Republicans in Congress to Scott’s plan, although other Republican lawmakers either distanced themselves from Scott’s proposal or refused to accept it. In a speech Tuesday, Biden criticized the Republican Party for adopting what he called the “ultra-MAGA agenda.”
