San Francisco: In order to make the messaging platform more user-friendly, Meta-owned WhatsApp has announced the launch of new features, including emoji reactions, larger files and groups.
The company said it was slowly introducing the ability to add up to 512 people to a group, which so far allowed only 256 to be added.
“We are excited to share that emoji reactions are already available in the latest version of the app. Reactions are fun, fast and reduce congestion in groups. We will continue to improve them by adding an even wider range of expressions in the future, “the company said in a blog post.
“In addition, you can now send WhatsApp files up to 2 GB at a time, protected from end-to-end encryption. This is an increase from the previous limit of 100 MB and we believe it will be useful for cooperation between small businesses and school groups, “he added.
WhatsApp said it recommends using WiFi for larger files and will display a counter during upload or download to let users know how long your transfer will take.
A recent report says that WhatsApp is probably working on the ability to view status updates directly in the chat list in a future app update.
This feature is under development, so it has not yet been introduced for beta testers.
WhatsApp is also working on a new feature for groups that will allow administrators to delete each message for each member in the group. WABetaInfo reports that the feature is currently under development and will be released to beta testers in the coming days.
