According to reports, a Russian oligarch died after “shamans” treated him with frog poison to cure his hangover.

Billionaire Alexander Subotin, 43, is believed to be linked to Vladimir Putin as a former senior director of Kremlin-friendly energy giant Lukoil.

Mr Subotin is believed to have sought treatment from two controversial shamans – otherwise known as traditional healers or fortune tellers – for a bad hangover.

The couple reportedly made an incision in the tycoon’s body and used it to apply frog venom.

Shortly afterwards, Mr. Subotin suffered a heart attack and was then given a tranquilizer in the form of the herb valerian.

He was found dead the next day by shamans Alexei Pindyurin, who uses the name Magua Flores, and Christina Teihrib, known as Tina Cordoba, according to local reports.

The couple already have a controversial reputation, as they were accused of abusing a makeup blogger in Mexico last year.

According to reports, shamans Magua Flores (real name Alexei Pindyurin) and Tina Cordoba (Christina Teihrib) found Mr Subotin dead the day after he was given frog venom.

The two reportedly healed clients by summoning spirits, sacrificing animals and bathing them in the blood of roosters.

They refused to treat Mr Subotin, but said he was their friend. The official cause of death of the oligarch is recorded as cardiac arrest.

It is the latest in a series of high-level suspicious deaths since Moscow’s February 24 invasion of Ukraine.

Former Kremlin employee Vladislav Avaev, 51, died in a suicide that killed his wife and 13-year-old daughter.

Just a few days later, 55-year-old multimillionaire Sergei Protosenya was found hanged in Spain.

He allegedly killed his 53-year-old wife Natalia and their daughter Maria with an ax.

Protosenya was a former deputy chairman of Novatek, a company also closely linked to the Kremlin.

In addition, four billionaires and two executives linked to state gas and oil giant Gazprom have also died since the start of the war.

These deaths, along with two other reported suicides, are suspected of possible assassinations in the West.
