Saskatchewan Rowriders sign Charleston Hughes

The Saskatchewan Rowaders have signed American defender Charleston Hughes, the team announced on Tuesday.

Hughes, 38, is returning to the Roughriders for his 14th season in the CFL after spending the 2021 campaign with the Toronto Argonauts. He played nine games against Argos last season, recording a total of 19 rebounds and two sacks.

He previously played two seasons with the Riders (2018-19), where he won the title both years and was named CFL All-Star. He played 85 defensive games and recorded 31 sacks in his two years with the Roughriders.

Hughes is a six-time CFL All-Star and has won two Gray Cups with the Calgary Stampiders in 2008 and 2014.
