More weather warnings for highways in the high mountain passes on Thursday morning.

Environment Canada has issued a special meteorological declaration for the Kokihala Highway between Hope and Merritt, as well as Highway 3 between Hope and Princeton.

Snow is expected from tonight to Friday morning.

Okanagan Connector will also receive some snow with a snowfall of between two and five centimeters. It is expected between 5 and 10 o’clock between Paulson Summit and Kootenay Pass.

“Snow is probably over the mountain passes of the Southern Inland, as a low-pressure attack is moving through the BC tonight,” said Environment Canada.

Snow levels will drop to nearly 900 meters tonight before rising again on Friday. Beware of occasional heavy snow, which can reduce visibility, and drivers are advised to prepare for winter driving conditions.
