A 25-year-old man from Centerville died in an accident Wednesday night.
The one-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. in Kilburn, west of New Brunswick, the RCMP said in a press release Thursday.
The Perth-Andover RCMP, the New Brunswick fire department and ambulance responded to a distress call along the river, and when they arrived, they found a man unconscious in the water and a motorcycle crashed nearby.
Police took the man ashore and gave him first aid until paramedics arrived, the RCMP said.
The man was transported in serious condition to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control while traveling on Route 105. He left the road and was thrown off the motorcycle.
Police believe alcohol may be a factor in the crash, the RCMP said in a statement. An autopsy will be ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
The cause of the crash remains to be clarified.
