The A38 was closed tonight after a “serious” accident involving a truck and a motorcycle. National highways have confirmed that the A38 to the east is closed between St Budeaux and the A386.
In a tweet, the West West National Highways Twitter account warned drivers of the accident, announcing that the road would be closed “for a while.” There is a deviation.
The tweet reads: “# A38 in #Devon is CLOSED east between # B3413 (#StBudeaux) and # A386 (near #Plymouth) due to a serious collision involving a truck and motorcycle. The road is expected to be closed. for a time.”

Devon and Cornwall police are on site, and traffic and national highway workers are on hand to help manage traffic. A spokesman for the highways said: “Due to the seriousness of the accident, the road is expected to remain closed overnight.”
