The Pixel 6a is expected to use a different fingerprint scanner than the Pixel 6

It looks like the Pixel 6a’s fingerprint scanner may be better than other Pixel 6 series phones.

Google’s Rick Osterlo confirmed to Android Central that the phone is set to use a different fingerprint scanner on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro displays.

Many of them have problems with the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro fingerprint scanner, so I hope to see a better fingerprint sensor this time. However, the Pixel 6a’s scanner may actually be the worst if Google only changes the fingerprint scanner just to keep costs lower.

However, it would be great if the Pixel 6a fingerprint scanner is faster and more accurate than the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Unfortunately, we’ll probably see another optical reader instead of ultrasonic fingerprint readers, as in Samsung’s flagship, but even Samsung uses the optical scanner on its A-series smartphones.

We look forward to learning more about the Pixel 6a’s fingerprint sensor in the coming months.

Google’s Pixel 6a will launch on July 28 in Canada for $ 599.99.
