Bring them together to get the story of a man in South Carolina who died of a heart attack while in the middle of the funeral of his girlfriend – who is said to have killed.
Joseph McKinnon, 60, was found near a “freshly dug pit” where the body of 65-year-old Patricia Dent was found, according to the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office.
McKinnon allegedly strangled Dent to death at a home in Trenton, SC over the weekend, WHNS reported.

Deputies responded to reports of “an irresponsible man lying in his yard,” Sheriff Jody Rowland said in a statement.
When they arrived, they found McKinnon’s body.
Medical teams have been called to the scene, trying to revive him but failing to save him.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers found the body of Dent, who lived with McKinnon.

“Mr. McKinnon then tied her up and wrapped her in garbage bags before putting her in the pre-dug pit,” the sheriff said in a statement.
“The pit was then partially filled by Mr McKinnon,” the statement continued. “While covering the pit, Mr. McKinnon contracted heart disease, which caused his death.”
Dent’s twin sister, Pamela Briggs, told the news that there were no signs of tragic events.
“I’m shocked. I haven’t seen anything of it come,” Briggs said.
“It’s a reality and a life and a lot of me is gone and now I’m going to have to live with it.”
