If you took bus 136 Brentwood Station on Thursday afternoon, you may be able to help the police.
Burnaby RCMPs are working to identify the suspect in an obscene act on the Lougheed Highway, where a driver was spotted masturbating in his car.
Police are calling on additional witnesses to provide information about the incident, which took place on Thursday, May 12. A Burnaby RCMP press release said that around 3:55 p.m. that day a driver was seen masturbating in his car while a red light.
The car was stopped next to bus 136 west of the Lougheed Highway, near Gaglardi Way, and a teenage passenger on the bus photographed the suspect.
Police are now sharing the image and description of the suspect, hoping to identify the driver.
The suspect is described as:
- a white man of about 50 years
- medium to heavy construction
- dressed in a black jacket with white stripes
The man did not look in trousers, as he was naked from the waist to the knees.
The car looks gray.
Police are working to gather other evidence, including other possible videos from the area, as the video taken from the bus did not capture a view of the vehicle or registration number.
Employees would also like to hear from other passengers who were on board the 136 Brentwood Station bus at the time.
“Burnaby’s RCMP wants to talk to everyone else, including drivers or other passengers on the bus, who may also have witnessed this indecent act or seen the suspect or his vehicle. This refers to behavior. The police want the public to be aware of this incident and to report on any such activity, “said Capt. Alexa Hodgins said in a press release.
Burnaby’s RCMP has not received recent reports of such behavior, but police are investigating similar incidents in other nearby jurisdictions, the statement said.
