A man charged with first-degree murder in the Cedar Rapids shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – One man is dead and another is charged with first-degree murder after a shooting Friday night at Cedar Rapids.

At around 9pm on Friday, police responded to a home on 3906 Northwood Drive NE on a gun alert. When police arrived on the scene, they found a man with gunshot wounds. Cider Rapids, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene.

James Ciegel, 42, of Cedar Rapids, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. He is currently in Lin County Jail.

Other information has not been disseminated. The investigation into the shooting continues.
