Opening: The Sound of Peace, Laura Pausini, Flag Parade
If you are not physically in Turin, you are now. Thus begins the Grand Final of Eurovision 2022: on the roads of the host city. There are so many people on the streets walking together and clapping. Someone turns on the guitar and plays the drums. People start singing to calm down, and in case you missed it, you can even read it on someone’s sunglasses.
We are now inside the Pala Olimpico arena, where we see Mika and Alessandro Catelan joining the movement to the sound of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1969 universal anthem for peace, Bed-ins for Peace.
It’s time for Laura Pausini. The Italian legend is also responsible for the opening of the Grand Finale of the show, as she presents a combination of some of her hits (“Lo Canto”, “La Solitudine”) and each song has a new outfit. Expect to see it in orange, white, blue, yellow and black. You will be entertained by the amount of dancers, productions and fireworks.
We are ready to parade the flag: behind the black structure there are dancers with light sticks and a rainbow. This rainbow gives way to explosions of sounds with the colors of the flag of each country. On the catwalk there are graphics with the name of the country.
During the flag parade there are two moments of rest. The first occurs after Spain; the dancers are in the center of the stage with their light sticks, which will also be colored with the colors of each country’s flag. The second break comes after Sweden.
Shortly afterwards, the voice was presented by the hosts: Laura Pausini, Alessandro Catelan and Mika.
The basics were introduced and translated into French and it’s time …

Italian gestures
This is a dance segment based on Italian gestures as important as speaking Italian, according to Mika, who says he already knew those gestures, even before he spoke the language. The trio presents several of them and a dancing team invades the stage for a routine inspired by this.
This is also the motto for raising awareness of sign language. The hosts teach the audience and spectators at home a sign of love and after a short video from the International Space Station follows.
Moneskin
Måneskin, last year’s winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, is the next interval act.
The band performed their brand new single “Supermodel” for the first time and was briefly interviewed by Alessandro, who asked about their experience with hitmaker Max Martin. Although they won last year’s Eurovision with the song “Zitti E Buoni”, the band will not sing the song.
We head to the green room with Mika, who reminds the audience to vote. A second summary of the evening is shown, followed by Alessandro, who appears to be out in space, advertising the Eurovision app and official hashtags.
Gigliola Chinketi
Laura Pausini is now with us to introduce you to Gigliola Cinchetti, Italy’s first winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Italian legend performs his song, won since 1964 “Non Ho L’étà”.
It’s time for another Eurovision Confidential chapter. This time, the voice of Eurovision appreciates the fashion choices of several previous performers, including Nonstop (Portugal 2006), Milan Stankovic (Serbia 2010), among others.
Mika
There is still time for another interval act. This is Mika performing a combination of some of his biggest hits like “Grace Kelly” or “Love Today” with a massive production. The Lebanese American will also debut with his brand new single “Yo Yo”.
