Britney Spears has lost her Miracle Baby.
The 40-year-old singer announced in a joint statement with her fiancé Sam Asgari on Instagram on Saturday that she had a miscarriage.
“We must announce with the deepest sadness that we lost our miraculous baby in early pregnancy,” the statement said.
“It’s a devastating time for any parent. Maybe we should have waited to announce as we moved on. However, we were too excited to share the good news. “

Spears and Asgari, 28, added that their love for each other is their “strength” right now.
“We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family,” the statement continued. “We are grateful for all your support. We ask for privacy in this difficult time. “
The publication, signed by Sam & Britney, included a caption that read: “We are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family 💝 Thank you for your support.”

Spears announced in early April that she and Asgari were expecting their first child together and what her third would be. She shared two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jaden James, 15, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
“Marriage and children are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect,” Asgari wrote in his own post, confirming the news at the time. “Fatherhood is something I’ve always looked forward to and I don’t take lightly. This is the most important job I will ever do. “
