Nokia X20 gets its first Android 13 Developer Preview

Earlier this week during its I / O developer conference, Google released the second beta version of Android 13 for its Pixels. At the same time, a bunch of other manufacturers of Android devices have also released their respective beta versions of Android 13 or developer preview programs. Although the announcement included a mention of Nokia, the developer’s website was not updated at the time, so we didn’t know which device from HMD Global’s stable would be blessed.

All this is changing today and this is the Nokia X20, which you can now test with Android 13 on board. Keep in mind, however, that HMD calls this a developer preview, not a beta, so perhaps the level of polishing may leave much to be desired.

Also keep in mind that reverting to Android 12 will require deleting all of your data at any time, so be sure to back it up before trying Android 13 DP. There is also the usual disclaimer for such compilations, which may show performance and / or stability issues, so do so at your own risk, of course.

If you really want to decide, all you have to do is go to the My Device app on your Nokia X20, click on the support banner at the bottom and scroll down to the Android developer preview. Then after a quick check of the IMEI you can go. The new version will arrive as an over-the-air update within 12 hours of your subscription.

If you can’t wait that long, you can manually try to get the compilation starting 20 minutes after the registration process is successful by going to Settings> Phone All> System Updates. Android 13 DP comes with a pre-installed customer feedback app that lets you report any issues you find.

If at some point you need to return to Android 12, you can request this through the My Device app.
