R. Kelly’s legacy is hotly debated against the background of new lyrics by Kendrick Lamar, which affect the already disgraced / condemned R&B legend – the question is … did he make good music ???
This is what Twitter is arguing about right now, after someone apparently responded to one of Kenny’s new songs on his album, “Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers, in which he suggests that SO is hypocritically still listening to Kelly’s music – despite, well, everything.
I want you all to stop saying that everyone listens to Kelly’s music secretly, as if not, we don’t do it ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I promise you that the music is not so good

Here is the original tweet from Thursday, which turned off the whole conversation – the user wrote: “I want you all to stop saying that everyone listens to music by R. Kelly secretly, as if not, we do not ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I promise you that the music no it’s not that good. “
They kept adding … “And if you have to listen to it in secret, it means you know it’s wrong, so where are we going from here.”
The song that is obviously mentioned is “We Cry Together”, starring Taylor Page in a heated rap dispute with Kendrick. At one point she says … “You’re the reason Harvey Weinstein had to see his conclusion // You’re the reason R. Kelly can’t recognize that he’s abusive.”
Ken responds to this in the song … “Man, shut up, we all know you’re still playing his music // He said I’m tired of these emotional, ungrateful bitches // False innocent, fake feminist, stop pretending // All feelings are no more real than what you defend. “
Back to the tweet … many people responded by saying that denying R. Kelly that he made “good” music is absurd – to be honest, the man has the recognition and the author’s / producer’s merits to prove it objectively. The fact is, yes – R. Kelly was without a doubt a real hit author.
There is no shortage of stars for which he has written / produced and / or with (or in many cases all 3) – the list consists of names such as Aaliyah, B2K, Diddy, Toni Braxton, Lady Gaga, Sparkle, Maxwell, MICHAEL JACKSON, Nick Cannon, Geneva, the Isle Brothers, Whitney Houston, Usher, Chris Brown, Jennifer Hudson, Pitbull, Justin Bieber … and many more.
Of course, this doesn’t even affect his personal list of hits, which were extremely popular when they were released – not least ‘Ignition (Remix),’ Bump n ‘Grind’, ‘Step in the Name of Love’. , “I believe I can fly” and countless others.
What it looks like comes down to … can two things be true at the same time and more importantly – can we separate art from the artist? If so, there’s just no way anyone can argue that Kelly didn’t make good music in his heyday … and yes, he did terrible things too.
Are you still pushing R. Kelly in 2022 ???
That being said, we will ask the obvious – keep in mind that the answers are anonymous – but if we are real … DO YOU still play music by R. Kelly today, despite his personal behavior ???
