A man was left unconscious and with “life-threatening injuries” on a street in Grimsby after an alleged attack.
Humberside police say he was found on Bethlehem Street late last night. One man was detained in connection with the incident.
After the man was found, a cordon of guards was placed on the road. There was a broken window at a bus stop near the scene, and broken glass was scattered on the sidewalk.

This morning, downtown Grimsby shoppers and commuters had to avoid the cordon and cross the road to Grimsby Minster. Humberside police vans were parked at the scene as officers guarded the road and sidewalk.
Officers at the crime scene conducted a forensic examination of Bethlehem Street and the surrounding area. Other employees sought video surveillance from nearby properties and companies.

Officials are calling for witnesses to the attack. A Humberside police spokeswoman said: “Police received reports of an attack on Bethlehem Street last night. A man was found unconscious on the road and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“One man was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being held by police. There is an accident in the area while employees are conducting inspections. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, citing diary number 646. “
