Britney Spears said she had a miscarriage.
Spears announced the news on Instagram on Saturday in a joint post with his partner Sam Asgari. The pop superstar, who received her freedom from judicial guards who have controlled her life for more than a decade, said in April that she was expecting a child from Asgari.
“It is with the deepest sadness that we must announce that we have lost our miracle baby in early pregnancy. This is a devastating moment for every parent,” the statement said. “Maybe we should have waited to announce as we moved forward, but we were too excited to share the good news.”
“Our love for each other is our strength,” the publication said. “We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family.”
Spears, 40, said she longed for a baby from 28-year-old Asgari, a personal trainer, but also said the nearly 14-year-old mentor, who graduated last year, forced her to stay in birth control.
The two met on the set of her 2016 Slumber Party video.
Spears also has two older sons with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
