We have entered unexplored territory, people. Elon Musk tweets something that is actually right for once.
Musk, who may or may not buy Twitter soon, “may not” is currently in charge), do what he always does on Saturday and post some thoughts on his Twitter channel. Among them was a call for Twitter users to change their feeds from an algorithmically sorted “home” version to the “latest”, where tweets are displayed in reverse chronological order. In other words, the way Twitter had to be read all the time, despite a recent experience to impose a home time line on users.
Musk’s rationale is that the algorithm can subconsciously manipulate you. This is, to Musk’s credit, a pretty reasonable point of view supported by research. A mathematical equation that shows you only what you think you want to see will make it difficult to accept other sources of information over time.

Former Twitter founder Jack Dorsey seems a little offended by the idea saying The algorithmic feed is simply intended for people who do not obsessively check Twitter. In a later response to another user, Dorsey acknowledged that the algorithm could have “unintended consequences”, but maintained that it was not intended to manipulate users.

Again, in Musk’s honor, he did not say the algorithm was like that intended to manipulate, it just happens. All of this is an excuse for me to tell you that at the most basic level, Musk is right about this: you need to switch your Twitter feed from “home” to “newest” quickly. Do not allow the machine to send you tweets.
The only sensible way to sort Internet content is in chronological order. Time is not manipulated, at least not as easily as these algorithms do.
