UFC on ESPN 36 is being held at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card is broadcast on ESPN2 and is broadcast on ESPN + after the preliminary meetings of ESPN2 / ESPN +.
In the main event, former light heavyweight champion Jan Blahovic (28-9 MMA, 11-6 UFC) faces Alexander Rakic (14-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC). In the co-function, Ion Kutelaba (16-6-1 MMA, 5-5-1 UFC) meets Ryan Span (19-7 MMA, 5-2 UFC) in the light heavyweight division.

Nick Maximov against Andre Petroski
Round 1 – Petroski rushes to the center of the cage. After ten seconds, they kicked at the same time and Maximov briefly slipped to the lane. However, he returns quickly and is ready to swing. They exchanged blows for 30 seconds, and a few seconds later Maximov shot for a takedown with one foot. Petroski plays well defense and draws. They climb the sail and Petroski grabs a throttle. He turns and seems to have locked it. Petroski’s corner shouts he’s out. Referee Chris Tonyoni checks it and for sure – the suffocation with the anaconda has put Maximov to sleep. Maximov was the biggest favorite on the map, and Petroski has a big upset in just 76 seconds. This is the first loss in Maximov’s career.

Carlos Candelario vs. Tatsuro Taira
Round 1 – The two fighters exchange and Tyra equalizes Candelario. They split up after a brief fight against the fence. Candelario shoots for one leg. He almost gets it, but Tyra turns and kicks inside. A clean right hand dumps Candelario, but he remains relatively unperturbed. Candelario spams a header, but Tyra avoids him and ties him up. Tyra pushes Candelario to the fence and then takes him down. Candelario rises and almost breaks Tyra’s grip. Tyra releases it of her own free will and connects with the uppercut. Candelario grabs his legs and pulls Tyra to the ground beautifully. Tyra briefly threatens with a guillotine, but releases. Candelario on top when the round ends. 10-9 Tyra.
Round 2 – Tyra’s Corner instructed him to go to the final and he was obviously listening. Candelario takes the big shot. Candelario covers up and Tyra strikes. Candelario eats a few to move up. Tyra climbs on her back, looking for strangulation from behind. He turns his attention to the ground and the pound before choking again. Now he is back to earth and pound. Candelario must move. He does enough not to be stopped by referee Mike Beltran. Candelario almost escaped, but Tyra shifted to keep her back. Tyra suffocates again with a goal from behind. Candelario rollers and rolls. Tyra twists her neck briefly and lets go. Now they are in a strange position, almost like a twister setup for Tyra. However, Candelario demonstrates his flexibility and continues to try to turn inward towards Tyra. He can’t get Tyra off his back, but Tyra can’t get obedience. We found ourselves in a strange recurring stalemate. Finally, Candelario curves up, halfway through Tyra’s guard. The round ends with Candelario on top, hitting Tyra in the body. 20-18 Tyra.
Round 3 – In the classic MMA way, the round starts with a blow to the groin. Taira split the verticals and connected a flush of Candelario. After a short break, Candelario is ready. The struggle is resumed. Tyra blows on a large right hook. Candelario rocked nicely under him and fired. A working effort brings Tyra to the canvas. Tyra tries to get up, but leaves her neck outside. Candelario grabs him and drops him to the guillotine. It has a butterfly guard on one side, so it’s hard to tell how tight it is. He uses it to strengthen Tyra. However, the grip is gone, so he releases it briefly. Tyra gets up and Candelario pulls on the guillotine again. This one was much worse. Not the brightest move of Candelario, who has just given up the top position and is now at the bottom in half guard. Tyra spun around and fired a triangular choke at Candelario. It was smooth. Candelario escapes, but Tyra turns on his back again. They are rolling. Tyra has a mean body, I’ll tell you. Tyra seeks strangulation from behind, but continues to put her hand through Candelario’s jaw. They roll over and Tyra lands a pair of massive elbows from the mountain. Tyra pauses, then stands up. Tyra falls to the ground. Candelario does his best to stand up and get out, but continues to eat punches and elbows. The round ends with the launch of Tyra. This is a great debut for the 22-year-old. 30-27 Tyra.

Angela Hill vs. Virna Jandiroba
Round 1 – There is a pretty solid match in the division for the third match of the evening. This card is sneaky solid from top to bottom, but I deviated. The two fighters exchange and bond. The battle strikes the carpet and Jandiroba seeks to lock his feet. After a brief struggle, Hill escapes and finds himself on top. They stand on their feet, still in the clinch. Hill controls Jandiroba, who shoots with several knees before breaking. Jandiroba ties Hill up and drags her to the lane, but the circle ends. 10-9 Jandiroba.
Round 2 – Jandiroba lands a combination and shoots. Hill protects her and pushes her away. Hill hit. Jandiroba comes from above with his right hand. Hill enters the floor with the uppercut and ties up Jandiroba. She leads Jandiroba to the cage. Jandiroba broke his elbow and walked around. Hill is associated with a good combination. They tie up again. Hill walks Jandiroba back. Jandiroba shoots for another takedown. This time she gets it. Jandiroba is in Hill’s guard. Hill controls Jandiroba’s wrist. Jandiroba moves up and isolates the shoulder. She goes for the hand lever. Hill holds her left hand with all his might, fighting with his shoulder. Hill is rolling to be on top, but she’s still struggling with her shoulder. Jandiroba adjusted his grip again. Hill stuck his knee in Jandiroba’s throat. This seems brutal. Jandiroba feels uncomfortable, but continues to threaten his hand until the end of the round. 20-18 Jandiroba.
Round 3 – Jandiroba makes a good combination, then smiles. Maybe she knew what was coming, because she was pulling Hill down again. Hill threatens a triangle, but Jandiroba doesn’t seem worried. She throws Hill’s legs aside and isolates Hill’s arm briefly. Hill catches Jandiroba’s legs. Jandiroba moves behind as they stand up. Hill struggles with the second cut to stay straight. Jandiroba, however, is ruthless. She gets what she wants, which is Hill with his back to the mat. About half a circle of the clock remains. Jandiroba is much stronger in the grappling department. It’s clear. Jandiroba in semi-guard. Hill slides back to the fence. Jandiroba is looking for a triangle hand throttle. In defense, Hill returns to Jandiroba. Vandiroba has a body lock. Hill rolls into it and finds himself in the guards of Jandiroba, where the battle ends at the last horn. 30-27 Jandiroba.

Michael Johnson vs. Alan Patrick
Round 1 – Patrick tries to pull Johnson down. No dice. Johnson smashed it shortly after. This amazes Patrick, who briefly tries to bond again. Johnson matadors bull and side steps. His box looked fresh, but Johnson had just been marked. He was injured there. Ice skating. They both had moments here early. Patrick ties up Johnson. They are separating. Patrick dives with a wild combination that lands. Johnson is back. Patrick connects with a rotating fist. Johnson looked a little stunned again, but he tied Patrick up and took him off. Johnson twists Patrick’s neck with a can opener. What is the point of a can opener? To open the guard. This is exactly what happened. Johnson moved to side control and then north-south. The round ends with Johnson on top. 10-9 Johnson.
Round 2 – It’s fun. Both fighters connect. Patrick throws a low kick and Johnson counters with a bad shot. Patrick wipes his face. This must hurt. Johnson tied him up and pushed him into the fence. Patrick tries a spinning kick back to his body. Johnson strikes an inner leg. Patrick rushes to the download. Johnson avoids and stays upright while Patrick is on his back, looking up at him. Patrick tries a kick from his back from a handstand. This seemed cool, but not very effective. Johnson releases it and gets a combination. Patrick relocates and eats a counter for his problems. Johnson received a combination of four strokes and Patrick crushed back. Johnson strikes a few more blows with dynamite on the downed Brazilian and you’re done! what …
