Lunar eclipse
The National Weather Service is calling for cloud cover and a 20 percent chance of rain tonight. However, we believe that Sebastian will have clear skies and no rain for tonight’s lunar eclipse.
A partial eclipse in Sebastian will begin at 22:27 on Sunday, with a total lunar eclipse starting at 23:29. A total eclipse will end at 12:53 on Monday, and a partial eclipse will end at 1:55.
According to NASA, a lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon, Earth, and Sun align as the Moon passes through the Earth’s shadow. As the moon passes through the earth’s shadow called the timbre, this is known as a total lunar eclipse.
It’s also safe to see a lunar eclipse tonight with the naked eye, and you don’t need any equipment to protect your eyes.
It is best to avoid bright lights and tall buildings that can obstruct your view. Instead, you can use one of the public docks for optimal viewing conditions.
During a lunar eclipse tonight, the moon will turn red because the only sunlight reaching the moon passes through the Earth’s atmosphere.
If for some reason you can’t observe the lunar eclipse in the open, NASA will include live broadcasts of the eclipse, starting at 23:00 from various places around the world.
