A three-year-old boy has died after an alleged dog attack.
Police were called by the Northwest Ambulance at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday (May 15th) after reports that a child was injured in Car Lane, Milnerow, Rochdale. The young child was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was found dead.
A huge police presence was filmed in the home, as well as numerous ambulances and an air ambulance were also present at the scene. No one has been arrested and police are investigating the circumstances, as well as previous dog incidents at the home.

Detective Jamie Daniels, superintendent of the Department of Public Protection and Serious Crime, said: “This is a tragic, devastating incident and our thoughts are with our family at this horrific time. We are investigating the incident and previous dog incidents at this address.
“While our inquiries to find out what happened will be in-depth and very early on, we suspect that this little boy has unfortunately succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of a dog attack. I understand that this is an extremely worrying incident for all concerned, and this news will shake the local community.
“I can only assure everyone that we will work tirelessly to establish the full circumstances that led to this tragedy, and although we keep an open mind, this is now seen as a criminal investigation. There will be a significant police presence in the area, we will be there to investigate and address any concerns that residents may have. “
