Ava White asked a friend, “Please don’t leave me,” after being stabbed

Ava White asked a friend, “Please don’t leave me,” as she lay injured on the floor after being stabbed, the court heard.

Ava died after being stabbed by a 14-year-old boy at School Lane in downtown Liverpool. Boy A takes responsibility for her fatal trauma, but says he acted in self-defense.

The teenager from South Liverpool, whose name cannot be named for legal reasons, denies murder and manslaughter. Liverpool’s Royal Courts of Justice heard the latest set of evidence from friends who were with her during the November 25, 2021 incident.

This morning, jurors heard the girl X, one of the many boys and girls with Ava at the time she died. The court has already heard how Ava stabbed her on the eve and several friends bought vodka from a London Road store and were later filmed by CCTV cameras in front of St John’s Mall.

They later moved to Williamson Square after a security guard who saw them picking plants moved them. Girl H, like other children who had previously testified, said her group then got into an argument with a group that included boy A over the fact that they were being filmed on their phones.

Girl H said Ava was angry and tried to get the band to delete the videos. She said the dispute had been going on for some time before it seemed to be resolved on its own. However, she said that as the two groups walked separately across Church Street, she heard Boy A shout “see your condition.”

She said that then Ava went to him and started arguing with him again. Girl X said she saw boy A approach Ava and hit her, and that she then chased him with other friends while he ran away.

She said: “I tried to go up to them. They just ran away. I ran back to Ava and Ava was lying on the floor. We were like “what the hell”, and then Ava, she must have been in shock or something, but she was just lying on the floor. It was awful to watch because her neck was bleeding so much.

Girl X said they tried to get help from the public and get someone to call an ambulance while Ava lay on the floor. She said, “I remember telling us not to leave me.” These are the last words I heard from her mouth, because then I had to leave, because I couldn’t look at her anymore. “

The jury also heard this morning about girl D, who was also with the group on the night of the stabbing. Girl D said she was sitting on a bench around the corner when the knife stabbing happened, and she realized it when she heard a loud scream. She said she then ran to where the group was and tried to help Ava.

Girl D said, “She was with her hand over me, trying to unbutton her jacket. Blood flowed from her neck. We placed her and she was bleeding on me, and we were just trying to put pressure on the side of her neck. “

She said they continued to do so while waiting for police and paramedics to arrive. Ava later died at the hospital despite doctors’ efforts to save her.
