The Billboard Music Awards will help tie a bow in the 2022 Awards season on Sunday night.
For the second year in a row, The Weeknd leads in the nominations with 17 chances for a trophy. His future touring partner, Doja Cat, is right behind him with 14 nods.
They had a great year with highly acclaimed Coachella sets last month.
In terms of performance, Machine Gun Kelly and Dan + Shay will step in for Red Hot Chili Pepper, who dropped out of the show due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
Travis Scott and Morgan Wallen, which many people have “canceled” over the past year, will also make their major comeback.
At 4 pm on Friday, a Billboard poll showed that fans are looking forward to Wallan’s performance.
Meanwhile, Sean “Didi” Combs, the show’s host, “wanted” to see Scott perform Sunday night.
“Travis went through a tragedy; Morgan [used the N-word] while talking to her boy. “People make mistakes,” Didi told Billboard. “Now we continue with love and respect for anyone who has been hurt or affected. It’s time to forgive. “
As for his own musical number, the rapper of “I’ll Be Missing You” promised: “You’ll definitely see a step or two; whatever I have to do. “

The award ceremony will be at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 15 at 20:00 ET.

How are the prizes chosen?
This one works a little differently, as there are no exact nominations from any controversial academy, but rather the commercial success of the musicians.
This year’s awards are based on the ranking period from April 10, 2021 to March 26, 2022.
The finalists and winners are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio broadcasts and social engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Luminate (formerly MRC Data).
Are there any new categories?
There are five new categories this year. Four of them are based on the first authoritative global charts on Billboard, and the other is Top Viral Song.
Ed Sheeran is a finalist in all four new global categories as a performer for his song “Bad Habits”.
Who represents?
Hosts include Anthony Anderson, Heidi Klum, Anita, Normany, Dov Cameron, DJ Khaled, Pusha T, Michael Bublé, City Girls, Teyona Taylor, Shenseea, Lainey Wilson, AleXa and Tiffany Haddish.
Who else performs?
Ed Sheeran, Burna Boy, Lato, Megan Ti Stallion and Rau Alejandro will be there.
Florence + the Machine, Maxwell and Silk Sonic will also bring the action. Miranda Lambert and El King will reunite to perform live on Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).
Super Bowl halftime singer Mary J. Blige will decorate the stage and accept the 2022 Icon Award.
