Bo Bishet Matt Chapman Toronto Blue Jace Seattle Mariners

TORONTO – Bo Bischet believes that the Blue Jace offensive on Monday will help the Toronto strike return to the right path. But to do that, he and his teammates must stick to their process.

Bishet and Matt Chapman had a solo home run, while the Blue Jays beat the Seattle Mariners 6-2. Bichette drove in another series with a single in the eighth inning on the evening of 3 vs. 5.

“We have to appear on the field ready to play every day. It will not be easy,” Bishet said. “We will have such offensive matches, but we have to come, ready to play, every day. It will not just happen.”

Striker single Alejandro Kirk scored two goals for Toronto (19-17), and Raimel Tapia had a single RBI single against starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi (2-1) on one of his best trips of the Major League Baseball season.

“To see (Kikuchi) being aggressive, to chase attackers, I think that’s huge for him,” Bishet said. “He’s getting better. Let’s hope he just keeps learning more and being aggressive and building on that.”

Kikuchi conceded just one goal in six innings with six outs. This was in line with his longest game of the season – a 2-1 win over the Yankees in New York on May 4 – and was the least number of hits and runs he allowed throughout the year.

He said his continued improvement was thanks to the guidance of Blue Jay coach Pete Walker.

“Pete mentioned that he was trying to throw ‘bitter’, which is actually a bigger knife,” Kikuchi said through translator Kevin Ando. “I’m just throwing it with that intent. I felt great after one or two throws and so I just stayed with it.”

Trevor Richards, Yimi Garcia, Ryan Boruki, Ross Stripling and Adam Simber came to Toronto with relief. Both Richards and Stripling allowed the run. Cimber won a save in its 2/3 of the innings.

Eugenio Suarez scored Homer in seventh for Seattle (16-20), and Adam Fraser added an RBI single in the ninth.

Chris Flexen (1-6) conceded six goals in three runs, but scored seven in 5 1/3 innings. Penn Murphy, Wyatt Mills, and Ronis Elias came out of the Mariners’ Goat.

“Obviously (Flexen) made a few mistakes with the home run, but I also thought he threw the ball really well,” said Seattle manager Scott Servais. “We have not done anything offensive to him.

Bichette raised 2-2 from Flexen over the left field fence to give the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead in the first. This was his third home run of the season and a small number of fans near Homer’s landing site began chanting “MVP!” while Bish was rounding the foundations.

Chapman followed this with his own Homer in the second. With two outs, he made his way to the deep center for his sixth of the year.

Kikuchi’s goalless strike was interrupted in the fifth by Mariners left-hander Jesse Winker bounced double on the first baseline. However, Kikuchi came out of the inning without passing any runs.

Raimel Tapia increased Toronto’s lead by two outs on the left in the sixth inning. His base kick from Murphy knocked out pinch runner Vinny Capra from second base for a 3-0 lead. This run was loaded with Flexen.

Seattle finally responded in seventh, when Suarez made his seventh home run of the season outside of Richards and reduced the score to 3-1.

Kirk came in as the striker with pinches for designated striker Zack Collins in seventh and scored an RBI single in the center field to score Bischet and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to increase Toronto’s lead by two.

Bichette had a bloop single in the eighth inning that put Tapia out of second base for a 6-1 lead by the Blue Jays.

Fraser’s second goal of the match came in the ninth inning, driving Suarez to the final score.

BIGGIO TO BUFFALO – Infield Cavan Biggio has been restored from the Toronto COVID list of injured on Monday night. The team immediately chose him to triple A Buffalo.

MAYZA ON THE IL – Leftist Tim Mayza was on the Blue Jays list for 15 days with injuries to his left forearm from Monday back to Sunday. Leftist Andrew Vazquez was pulled out of Buffalo by a corresponding move.

LOOKING AHEAD – Jose Berios (2-2) will start on Tuesday night while Toronto continues a series of three games with Seattle. Logan Gilbury (4-1) will take the mound for the Mariners.
