The suspects were arrested after a collision with a school bus

Two suspects face multiple charges in connection with two stolen vehicles on Monday – one of which was a pickup truck that crashed into a school bus in London, Ont.

The London Police Service (LPS) said that shortly before 8 am two suspects – a man and a woman – entered an apartment in the 1700 block on Jalna Boulevard and robbed the car keys of the occupants of the home.

The suspects fled the area, traveling south in the stolen vehicle, and soon after contacted London police.

Law enforcement agencies in other jurisdictions were later notified and provided with a description of the stolen vehicle and the suspects.

In the course of the investigation, the police established that the two suspects involved in the burglary and entry and robbery were the same suspects involved in a crash in which a stolen pickup truck was parked behind a school bus in the area of ​​Jalna and Jocelyn Drive.

After the collision, the two suspects fled the scene on foot.

LPS says there were no children on the school bus at the time of the incident.

According to the Middlesex OPP, police were later sent to Brigham Road, east of Mount Bridges, shortly after 9:00 a.m. after a report of another robbery and stolen vehicle.

Police later attended the intersection of Hasket Road and Nairn Road near Parkhill, Ont. after a signal of a collision of a vehicle with the car stolen from Brigham Road.

The OPP says the two suspects were arrested Monday afternoon in Parkhill.

A 29-year-old man without an address was charged under the Criminal Code and the Road Traffic Act with the following:

  • Violent robbery
  • Smash, enter the scene – with the intent to commit a felony
  • Failure to comply with the release order – except to be present in court
  • Possession of property obtained through crime over $ 5,000 – in Canada
  • Possession of property obtained through crime under $ 5,000 – in Canada
  • Pack under $ 5,000
  • Driving while hanging

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old woman without a fixed address has also been charged under the Penal Code with:

  • Violent robbery
  • Smash, enter the scene – with the intent to commit a felony
  • Failure to comply with the release order – except to be present in court
  • Possession of property obtained through crime over $ 5,000 – in Canada

Both were detained on bail.
