Marvel’s She-Hulk: Lawyer reveals a hilarious trailer and release date

“Being a superhero is for billionaires and narcissists … and adult orphans, for some reason.” Yes, Marvel’s She-Hulk: The lawyer will obviously have a little fun with Marvel’s cinematic universe when it premieres on Disney Plus on August 17th.

Disney announced the release date on Tuesday, as well as unveiled a new trailer that sells the playful tone of the upcoming show.

Tatiana Maslany plays Jennifer Walters, the titular superhero who makes her live debut in the series. She is joined by MCU protagonist Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Tim Roth, who played a rival green monster in The Incredible Hulk since 2008 and returned late for last year’s Shang-Chi. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Renee Elise Goldsbury and Jamila Jamil.

Bruce Banner (Green, played by Mark Ruffalo) joins the series to help his cousin Jennifer Walters (the little one, Tatiana Maslani).

Walt Disney Studios

In the comics, Walters is a lawyer who becomes She-Hulk after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, a Bruce Banner. Fortunately for her, she receives Hulk-like forces without the angry transformation.

The show’s lead writer is Jessica Gao, best known for Emmy Rick and Morty episode winner Pickle Rick. Kat Koiro, director of episodes of Modern Family and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, is responsible for several episodes.

Marvel Studios

She-Hulk is part of the Fourth Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joining Moon Knight and Ms Marvel in this year’s calendar. Other upcoming Marvel shows include Echo, the spin-off of WandaVision Agatha: House of Harkness, and three new animated shows: Marvel Zombies, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and a revival of the much-loved 90’s animated film X-Men.
