Retired Russian Colonel Mikhail Khodarenok said any talk of Ukraine’s counterattack was a “big exaggeration” just a day after criticizing Russia’s military operations in Ukraine, saying the situation in Russia could “get worse”. .
Speaking to a Russian state television channel on Wednesday, Khodarenok said: “When people say that Ukraine is gaining the ability to counterattack, it is a great exaggeration. And as for the actions of our High Command, there is every reason to believe that the implementation of these plans in the very near future will come as an unpleasant surprise to Ukraine. “
He also said that it would be impossible for the Ukrainian armed forces to gain supremacy in the air in the next few months, and regarding the acquisition of naval supremacy, he said, “while our Black Sea Fleet is in the Black Sea, Ukraine’s Black Sea Fleet has supremacy it can’t be. “
On Tuesday, however, Khodarenok said the information spread about a “moral or psychological breakdown” of Ukraine’s armed forces was not even “close to reality.” He also said that Ukraine could arm 1 million people and that Russia should take this into account in its operational and strategic calculations.
“The situation for us, to be honest, will get worse,” he said on Tuesday. He also criticized Russia’s geopolitical isolation from the world, and before the invasion he warned that it would be more difficult than many expected to wage war in Ukraine.
