What is open and closed on Victoria Day

As Victoria Day approaches, a number of city facilities will be closed and some services will be suspended as a result of the holiday.

The following is a complete list of affected facilities and services:

Administrative offices:

• The Cemetery Office, the GFL Memorial Gardens, the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Center, the Sault Transit Head Office, the Fire Administration Office, the Public Works and Engineering Office and Public Libraries will be closed.

recreation:

• The GFL Memorial Gardens, McMeeken Center, Northern Community Center, Bay Street Active Living Center 55+ and the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site will be closed.
• The John Rhodes Swimming Pool is open Monday, May 23 from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. for parent and child swimming / strip and from 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. for public swimming.
• Outdoor recreation facilities will be open, including baseball diamonds, football pitches, disc golf courses, tennis courts, pickleball courts and skate parks.
• There will be outdoor sports facilities, outdoor fitness equipment, playgrounds and outdoor picnic areas.
• Parks and recreation areas, including trails, are open.
• Open parks for dogs without a leash, park benches, outdoor playgrounds, outdoor play equipment and play equipment.
• Pointe Des Chenes Day Park will be open.
• Bicycle rental will be available at Marina Bondar during regular business hours.

Garbage and recycling will also be one day later than planned throughout the week, with no collection on Monday, and the landfill will be closed on Monday and reopened on Tuesday morning at 8:30 p.m.

The city’s marine facilities will open on Friday. The working hours for each of the marinas are as follows:

• Bellevue Marina: open from 20 May until 30 June. Monday to Thursday from noon. until 7 pm, Friday to Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm, from July 1 to September 5 from Monday to Thursday (11 am to 7 pm) and from Friday to Sunday (10 am to 8 pm)
• Marina Bondar: open from 24 May to 30 June from Monday to Sunday (11 am to 7 pm), 1 July to 5 September from Monday to Thursday (11 am to 7 pm) and Friday to Sunday (10 am to 8 pm)
