$ 8 million contract awarded to replace TCH bridge outside Grand Falls Windsor

A contract worth nearly $ 8 million has been awarded to Coady Construction & Excavating to replace the Rushy Pond Bridge on the Trans Canada Highway, about 6 miles west of Grand Falls-Windsor.

The contract includes the construction of a new concrete bridge and a temporary detour around the site, the installation of railings and pavement on the highway leading to the new construction and the removal of the existing bridge.

Work is expected to begin this season and be completed by next year.

This bridge is one of two near Grand Falls-Windsor that will be replaced. In January, JCL Investments received a $ 2.4 million contract to replace the Aspen Brook Bridge, about 20 kilometers west of downtown Newfoundland.
