Fire Services returns smoke door to door, alarm program for CO

Checking smoke and carbon monoxide alarms is something that should not be overlooked, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services reminds the public.

After a two-year hiatus, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services will once again go door-to-door, spreading fire safety awareness and showing people how to make sure their alarms are checked and working properly.

The smoke and CO alarm program in operation starts on May 24 at 6 pm on a schedule from Monday to Thursday and will last until September 29.

Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services encourages the public to test all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the home at least once a month – they’ll even show you how! With the festive weekend of Victoria Day ahead, the signal for the start of Sault Ste. A smoke and carbon smoke alarm program has been set up by the Marie Fire Service.

After a two-year hiatus, firefighters will roam door-to-door in neighborhoods across the city, spreading fire safety awareness among Sault Ste citizens. Marie.

The work program begins on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Firefighters will go door to door from 18:00, and the schedule is from Monday to Thursday.

When firefighters arrive at your home, they will offer valuable fire safety information with information brochures, alarm discussions, exit and escape plans, as well as testing for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the home. As part of the test, firefighters will check the date on the back of the alarms to make sure they have not expired.

The program will run from Tuesday, May 24 to Thursday, September 29, 2022. This will be immediately followed by the beginning of the fire prevention week in the first week of October.
