Swarming incident: 2 more girls arrested by Surrey RCMP

Police arrested two other youths in connection with a brutal attack on a teenage girl in front of a primary school in Surrey, British Columbia, earlier this month.

Surrey told the RCMP that the last suspects had been detained and released pending a future trial date, just like the first one who had previously been identified as the main aggressor in the incident.

It is not clear what charges the three young men, all girls, could end up with.

“As the investigation is still ongoing, it is not yet clear which charges can be recommended.” Vanessa Mann told CTV News on Friday. “The Crown Advocate will ultimately decide what charges will be brought.

Authorities said they would provide up-to-date information on the status of the case, which attracted considerable attention after a video of the disturbing attack was circulated on social media.

“We acknowledge that there is great public interest in this incident,” Mann said.

The video shows a girl shouting, “Go, go, go, hit her,” while the crying victim was hit and kicked in front of Hillcrest Elementary School.

Later, the attackers in the victim’s corner made her kiss their shoes.

Family members identified the victim as a 9th grader and said the 15-year-old was left with a broken nose, black eyes and scratches and bruises all over her body after the attack.

“I tore inside to watch my daughter go through all the things she went through,” the girl’s father said over the weekend.

Dozens of supporters gathered Sunday morning to show support for the teenager. Dozens of vehicles drove down 176 Street, rocking in support, and in some cases stopping and getting out to hug the young girl.

“It just gives me hope that she can get through this,” her mother said of the support.
