Three were shot dead in downtown Lincoln early Saturday

LINCOLN, Neb. (COLN) – Police are investigating a shooting in downtown Lincoln that left three people hospitalized early Saturday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. on 12th and O. Streets. Lincoln Police said on 10/11 NOW, area officials heard gunshots right down the street and rushed to the scene. Police also said a gunman shot at a group of people.

Upon arrival, LPD said they found three people with gunshot wounds and began implementing life-saving measures.

All three patients were taken to a hospital in Lincoln. Police said one victim was in critical condition and life-threatening, another was in critical but stable condition, and a third victim was treated at the hospital and later released.

Police added that there are currently no suspects in custody, but there is no ongoing threat to the public.

LPD is processing the scene at O ​​11 between 12 and 12 as the investigation into the shooting continues. As a result, residents have been asked to avoid the area, which will be closed until the morning.

“Video evidence has already been collected and is currently being reviewed by investigators,” tweeted Lincoln police.
