Toronto under warning of a severe thunderstorm with expected hail

Toronto has been warned of a severe thunderstorm, with Environment Canada warning of gusts of wind and potential hail on Saturday.

The Meteorological Agency issued a warning for the Greater Toronto area, as well as much of southern Ontario, in the early afternoon, saying “conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms.”

They warn that winds can blow at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour and that hail the size of nickel could fall on the city.

“A line of strong thunderstorms is currently moving northeast west of Kitchener over the area,” the weather warning said. “With this line, strong gusts of wind and hail are possible.”

At around 12:45 a mobile alert was sent to the phones, warning residents to “hide immediately” if threatening weather approaches.

According to Environment Canada, there is a 40% chance of rain at risk of a thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon.

There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation in the evening.

The rain will be combined with some high humidity, and the temperature will be around 27C, feeling like 34C.

The humid weather is expected to continue on Sunday, although the temperature will not be as humid as 19 degrees.

The festive Monday looks like a mixture of sun and clouds, with a maximum temperature of 17 C.
