Pete Davidson said a heartfelt, funny goodbye to his time on Saturday Night Live in the season finale of Season 47
I appreciate that SNL has always protected me and allowed me to work on myself and develop, and I thank Lorne for never giving up on me or condemning me, even when everyone else was and trusted me and allowed me to I have a place to call home with memories that will last a lifetime, “he said
“I was just a skinny kid then, and no one knows what race I’m from. “Now everyone knows I’m white because I’m very successful, even though I’ve never been to work,” Davidson joked.
Davidson also cited the controversy he created when he mocked Congressman Dan Crenshaw’s bandage, saying Fox News had already done the same after “calling me a monster” because he said so.
Tucker Carlson called it “McCain’s blindfold.” These are two veterans in one insult!
He then made comparisons to what he had said about Chris Rock’s Crenshaw, who insulted Jada Pinkett-Smith before her husband, Will, slapped him at the Oscars.
“I was just joking about someone’s appearance, not realizing that the story behind it is a sensitive issue, a tradition of SNL alumni.”
Davidson also shared the advice given to him by SNL creator Lorne Michaels when he announced that he was engaged to singer Ariana Grande.
He said, “Oh, hold on dear lives!” That’s right what you said!
He ended by thanking everyone involved in the show again.

Kate McKinnon also seems to be saying goodbye during the opening sketch of the season finale.
McKinnon, who was reportedly leaving with fellow fellow veteran actors Eddie Bryant, Davidson and Kyle Mooney, brought back Miss Rafferty’s recurring character to the show’s cold show.
SNL first made a version of this sketch in 2015, when Ryan Gosling hosted the show and became a popular favorite because of McKinnon’s ability to make other cast members break up and laugh on the air.
The sketch followed the usual formula of McKinnon, Cecily Strong and the presenter (this week it was Natasha Lyon), who told about their experiences of alien abduction by Pentagon officials, including Bryant.
The sketch ended with Pentagon officials telling the three that they needed someone to go with them in exchange for extraterrestrial technology secrets.
